Description:Cultural controls are necessary for control of this disease on beans in home gardens. This disease is most severe in cool, wet weather. Do not work in garden when plants are wet, since this will spread fungal spores. The disease can be seed-borne, so purchase disease-free seed. Remove or thoroughly turn under diseased plant debris at the end of the season. Rotation to an non-host crop is recommended in locations where the disease has been identified. Hosts of this fungus include tepary bean, cowpea, mung bean, lima bean, scarlet runner bean and faba bean.
